It seems that Nissan is pleased to have tennis Grand Slam champion Naomi Osaka as its brand ambassador. The automaker gave the first Japanese to win a women's singles title in the 2018 U.S. Open final a GT-R Nismo.Osaka's new toy in her garage is powered by a 3.8-liter V6 engine that has the capability of producing 600 hp and 651 Nm of torque. The engine is connected to a six-speed dual clutch transmission.The tennis superstar officially became a Nissan ambassador in September 2018. Osaka decided to join Nissan because she looks up to the brand's strong Japanese DNA and competitive spirit. The Grand Slam champ previously said that Nissan is "always challenging expectations, and I look forward to bringing its vision for driving excitement to new audiences around the world."As previously reported, Osaka will help Nissan in its global promotions and advertising. Nissan will also support Osaka by providing Nissan vehicles at her tour destinations.
