Nissan's Concept Rogue Trail Warrior Brings New Meaning to All-Terrain

Nissan's Concept Rogue Trail Warrior Brings New Meaning to All-Terrain

The Rogue is Nissan’s bestseller in America, and its rousing success can be partly attributed to the highly creative ways the Japanese brand promotes the model in that part of the world, like the time they teamed up with Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and created like-themed Rogues. This year, Nissan continues its clever tradition by teasing the Nissan Rogue Trail Warrior Project, which boasts a tracked version of the 2017 Nissan Rogue. See the concept vehicle below.

Rogue Trail Warrior modifications

The one-off Nissan Rogue Trail Warrior is pixel-camouflage-wrapped, with a military-like design punctuated by the Dominator tracks supplied by American Track Truck Inc. that replace the compact crossover’s standard wheels. The tracks measure 48 inches long, 30 inches tall, and 15 inches wide. The suspension receives a few modifications to accommodate the tracks, as does the wheel wells.

Other custom accouterments include an array of sand-dune traversing equipment that includes a Warn 4K winch and ARB roof rack with LED lighting on the roof. Military style enhancements come by way of flared wheel arches and yellow-tinged windows and headlights.

Nissan left the driveline untouched, which means the vehicle remains powered by 170-hp, 2.5-liter DOHC four-cylinder engine equipped in the regular Rogue. Torque figure is at 175 lb-ft, and transmission is CVT. All this means that the Rogue is going to be one painfully slow vehicle in the desert, so if you’re thinking of chasing bandits during the apocalypse a la Mad Max, this is not the car for it.

"This new Rogue Trail Warrior adds a new dimension to family adventures with its snow/sand tracks, gear basket, winch and camo paint," said Michael Bunce, vice president, Product Planning, Nissan North America, Inc. "If you want to stand out from the crowd during a day on the slopes or the beach, this is the vehicle to take."
