KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • How much growth in the local auto industry see in 2025?

According to CAMPI-TMA, the local auto industry saw 3.7 percent growth.
  • How many cars did the member brands of CAMPI-TMA sell in 2025?

In 2025, the member brands of CAMPI-TMA sold 491,395 units.
  • As shared by the two groups, the aforementioned retail volume for January-December of the previous year reflected a 3.7-percent jump from the 473,842 examples handed over to local buyers in 2024. Additionally, out of the industry’s overall churn, 463,646 came from CAMPI and TMA members.

Last month alone (December 2025), 47,371 examples were sold — the strongest monthly performance since 2017.

In a joint statement, the two organizations said that last year’s growth is due to the “overall unfavorable market environment” during the second half like the reimposition of excise tax on pickup trucks and natural calamities that occurred in the country.

    Other stories:

“We attribute last year’s achievement to the aggressive promotional campaigns and the new product introductions from the various car brands which expanded consumer options especially in electrified and commercial vehicle segments," CAMPI President Jose Maria Atienza said.

The electrified vehicle segment retailed a total of 58,905 units, which held 12 percent of the local vehicle sales market last year. Further, the combined sales of battery-powered, plug-in hybrid, and hybrid vehicles grew by 142.5 percent as compared to 2024’s.

According to Atienza, the outcome highlights the public's growing acceptance and demand for electrified technologies.

Other sub-segments like the one-tonner multi-purpose vehicles also boosted the industry’s 2025 performance — enjoying a 76.6-percent rise from 2024. Models in this category include Toyota Tamaraw, Mitsubishi L300 FB and Isuzu Travis, among others.

Yesterday, the BYD Cars Philippines (which is under ACMobility) announced that its sales for 2025 was at 26,122 — cementing its position as one of the top-performing automotive companies in the country in terms of sales last year.
