Suzuki Motor Corporation is set to shut down the automotive production of its Thailand facility in 2025.

    Situated at Pluakdaeng, Rayong Province, the manufacturing facility (which houses around 800 employees) produces Celerio, Ciaz, and Swift

    The global marque said that while such is the case, its Thai arm shall continue sales and after-sales services there via importing completely boxed-up units from its plants within the Association of Southeast Asian Nation (ASEAN) region, as well as in Japan and India.

    Suzuki shared that the establishment started manufacturing vehicles since 2012 and has produced as much as 60,000 units per year, including exports.

    Relatedly, the company shall introduce electrified models including hybrid vehicles in Thailand as part of its efforts to push the Thai government’s carbon neutrality goals.

    Suzuki Swift TH

    Once it stops operations, Suzuki Philippines will likely source the locally-sold Swift from other factories.
