MPT Mobility Easytrip Services Group Key Accounts Head Hazel Ann Torres explained during a media briefing yesterday that the lifespan of an RFID sticker is estimated to be around two years. While some RFID stickers may still continue to work past their expected lifespan, these stickers will display visible signs of wear and tear.

On top of making sure that the RFID stickers remain in good working condition, Torres said that MPTC also pushed for the replacement of RFID stickers due to the implementation of interoperability schemes.

Torres clarified that the first phase of the interoperability program started in 2017. Phase one was for Autosweep subscribers who wanted to use their RFID stickers on MPTC-operated toll roads.

Phase two, which started on January 15, 2023, was for Easytrip subscribers who opt to use their RFID stickers on San Miguel Corporation-operated tollways.

To note, Easytrip subscribers who want to enroll their RFID stickers to Autosweep must have RFID Duo Neology-branded stickers. Replacing old RFID stickers with Neology-branded ones can be accomplished in Easytrip one-stop shops, like the one in Cavite-Laguna Expressway.
