MANILA: Hariphil Asia Resources Incorporated (HARI)-led Volvo Philippines rolled out the ES90 Ultra sedan and EX90 sport utility battery electric vehicles (BEV).
Per the local wing of the Swedish auto manufacturer, the new models mark a significant step in its electrification journey here in the Philippines, with the two new flagship cars representing next-generation automobiles engineered with next-level advanced safety innovations, modernized digital features, and passenger comfort.
For those interested in what the luxe vehicles have to offer, here is a quick look at Volvo’s new “Ultra” BEVs.
The Volvo ES90 Ultra BEV is an executive sedan for today’s opulent gentleman.
Outside in, the model embodies Volvo’s Scandinavian design and emphasizes a calm and purposeful elegance with clean surfaces, balanced proportions, and a sloping roofline with fastback design create a harmonious profile.

Speaking of the side profile, it has flush, body-colored door handles, black-colored pillars, and a set of two-tone wheels. At the back is a pair of C-shaped lights, the “VOLVO” moniker, and a bumper that provides the lower portion of the vehicle with a cohesive design.
The interior is likewise worthy of attention, with front seats that are power-adjustable, ventilated, heated, and come with a massage function. For those sitting at the back, the seats recline and offer some ventilation too.
For those keen on taking car selfies, a panoramic electrochromic roof allows plenty of natural light to penetrate the cabin. Also, relaxation on the road is possible with good soundproofing.

It is also worth mentioning that the Volvo ES90 Ultra BEV is the first sedan from the Gothenburg-headquartered manufacturer to don the said EV architecture.

Meanwhile, the Volvo EX90 Ultra BEV is a sport utility vehicle (SUV) that can accommodate the whole family while still providing owners an air of luxury.
It adopts the same design language with a clean face, void of the traditional grille. On that note, it also uses the template that puts Volvo’s emblem at the center of two T-shaped lights. The same goes for the piano black bumpers, which also extend to the side sills. Here, one can also find flush handles, black pillars, and two-tone wheels. At the back is a roof-mounted spoiler, C-shaped lights with a black garnish, and a bumper.

Power is delivered by a twin-motor all-wheel drivetrain with a high–voltage battery rated at 111 kilowatt-hours. Drivers can expect at least 456 horsepower and 770 Newton-meters from the said setup.
The Volvo ES90 Ultra and EX90 Ultra BEVs carry the prestige and reputation for safety that the brand is famous for.
Hence, they are fitted with notable features and technologies.
On top of lane keeping, adaptive cruise control, and navigation support, the sedan, for example, gets an advanced sensor suite that monitors both driver behavior and the surrounding environment. The system uses seven cameras, five radars, and 12 ultrasonic sensors — allowing it to deliver comprehensive awareness of the road, obstacles, and other vehicles.
