15 Audi models get TSP+ awards from IIHS

The United States (US) arm of Audi announced that the brand now has 15 models honored by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) with the 2022 Top Safety Pick+ (TSP+) award. This puts Audi in the lead for automotive manufacturers with cars receiving the said recognition.

Below is the full list of models to receive the 2022 TSP+ award from IIHS and their corresponding model years:

• Q4 e-tron (2022 and 2023)
• Q4 Sportback e-tron (2022 and 2023)
• e-tron (2022 and 2023)
• e-tron Sportback (2022 and 2023)
• Q5 (2022 and 2023)
• Q5 Sportback (2022 and 2023)
• Q8 (2023)
• A3 (2023)
• A4 (2023)
• A4 allroad (2023)
• A5 Coupe (2023)
• A5 Sportback (2023)
• A6 (2022 and 2023)
• A6 allroad (2022 and 2023)
• A7 (2022 and 2023)

To earn the TSP+ award, a vehicle must earn good ratings in six IIHS crashworthiness evaluations, including the driver-side small overlap front, passenger-side small overlap front, moderate overlap front, original side, roof strength, and head restraint tests. The vehicle must also be available with a front crash prevention system that earns advanced or superior ratings in both the vehicle-to-vehicle and daytime vehicle-to-pedestrian evaluations. Additionally, to receive a TSP+ rating, good or acceptable headlights must be standard across all trims.
