2025 Transportation Forum to tackle urgent transport challenges, need to reduce carbon emissions

MANILA: The upcoming 2025 Transportation Forum, staged by the European Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines (ECCP) in partnership with the Embassy of Sweden in Manila, will tackle urgent transport challenges as well as the need to reduce carbon emissions.

The theme of the event is “Connecting the Philippines: Sustainable Transport, Safer Lives.”

Per the event organizers, the forum aims to serve as a catalyst for collaboration between public and private sectors to modernize and future-proof the country’s transport system.

“With a focus on safety, sustainability, and accessibility, the 2025 Transportation Forum seeks to foster dialogue and exchange best practices, leveraging technology and global expertise to create a more efficient, inclusive, and resilient transport ecosystem,” ECCP wrote in a press statement.

This year’s forum will highlight three topics:

• Safer infrastructure
• Smart and safer vehicles
• Sustainable mass transport

• Joseph Victor “JV” Gomez Ejercito, Senator of the Republic of the Philippines
• Mark Steven Pastor, Undersecretary for Road Transport and Infrastructure of the Department of Transportation
• Ramon Reyes, Undersecretary for Road Transport and Non-Infrastructure
• Jean Henri Todt, Special Envoy for Road Safety at United Nations
• Patrick Aquino, Director IV of the Energy Utilization Management Bureau of the Department of Energy
• Thomas Lich, Senior Expert and Head of Bosch Accident Research, Corporate Research, Advanced Vehicle Systems at Bosch Corporation Germany
• Matt Nilson, Vice President of Volvo Buses, Asia Pacific Region
• Edmund Araga, President of Electric Vehicle Association of the Philippines
