BMW PH unleashes updated X1 model

MANILA: SMC Asia Car Distributors Corporation launched a more affordable BMW X1 xDrive25e option in the Philippines.

Serving as the newest addition to the brand’s growing plug-in hybrid offering for the local market. Slotted under the nameplate’s M Sport variant, the electrified BMW X1 is priced at P3.398 million. 

In a statement, BMW’s importer in the country shared that the recently-unveiled offering comes with a “balance of rugged versatility, sophisticated design, and the advanced efficiency of a state-of-the-art plug-in hybrid powertrain.”

Vehicle specifications

Powering the vehicle is a plug-in hybrid system that can dish out churns of up to:

Maximum output (in horsepower)	245
Peak torque (in Newton-meters)	477

Power is sent to all four wheels via the seven-speed Steptronic transmission with gearshift paddles, which allows the vehicle to run 0-100 kilometers per hour (kph) in 6.8 seconds and reach a top speed of 190 kph.

Guaranteeing traction and directional stability is its hybrid-specific BMW xDrive all-wheel-drive system.

The powertrain combination is connected to the electric motor that gives the BMW X1 xDrive25e xLine a fumes-free range of up to 102 kilometers (based on Worldwide Harmonized Light Vehicles Test Procedure standards).

Further, the new X1 xDrive25e xLine boasts the BMW Driving Assistant made up of driver-assistive and safety technologies, including:

• Advanced Collision system
• Lane Change Warning system
• Blind Spot Monitoring
• Rear Crossing Traffic Warning
• Parking Assistant with reversing assist camera and active park distance control 

Other notable portions equipped in the sport utility vehicle are:

• BMW Live Cockpit Plus (made up of 10.25-inch instrument cluster and a 10.7-inch widescreen display powered by the latest iDrive Operating System 9)
• BMW ConnectedDrive Services
• Veganza perforated black leather sport seats for front occupants
• High-quality stereo speaker system
• Comfort Access System
• Automatic tailgate
• Wireless charging shelf

As mentioned early, the new BMW X1 xDrive25e xLine is priced at P3.398 million. Customers may choose among the eight tones namely:

• Alpine White
• Black Sapphire
• Mineral White
• Dune Grey
• Cape York Green
• Space Silver
• Night Dusk Blue
• Fire Red

The vehicle is packaged with a portable flexi charger, a five-year comprehensive warranty (or 200,000 kilometers [km> whichever comes first), and an eight-year warranty for the electric battery (or 120,000km whichever comes first).
