MANILA: BYD Cars Philippines has formally introduced the plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) version of the Tang.
The BYD Tang Dual Mode-Intelligent (DM-i) is a three-row midsize sport utility vehicle (SUV) that continues to offer safety, comfort, space, and performance in a different powertrain option.

Propelling the BYD Tang DM-I is the 1.5-liter turbocharged powertrain, permanent magnet synchronous motor, and 21.5-kilowatt-hour (kWh) Blade battery. The said powertrain — which lets the vehicle reach 100 kilometers per hour from rest in 7.5 seconds — has the capacity to deliver:

Power is sent to the front wheels using an electronically continuously variable transmission (eCVT).
Similar to the BYD Sealion 6 DM-i, the all-new Tang DM-i is equipped with both a direct current (DC) and alternating current (AC) ports.
With a fully juiced battery and a tank full of gasoline, the BYD Tang DM-I can cover up to 1,160 kilometers (km). Running on electric vehicle mode alone, it can do 110 kms.
