Caltex Rolls Out Techron D Concentrate for Cleaner and Better Performing Diesel Engines

Diesel car, van and SUV owners can now clean and keep their diesel injectors working like brand new with the new Techron D Concentrate, ultra-high-performance diesel fuel system cleaner.

Launched last February 15 by Chevron Philippines Inc. (CPI), marketer of Caltex brand of fuels and lubricants, Techron D Concentrate is a premium diesel fuel additive that deep cleans in one tankful. It cleans diesel injector deposits across a range of injector technologies and comes with Cetane Improver.

One 16-oz. bottle of Techron D Concentrate treats up to 80 liters of diesel fuel every 5,000 kilometers. Users will quickly restore lost engine power; improve engine responsiveness, drivability and engine noise reduction; maximize fuel economy and remove carbon deposits in the entire fuel system. It also has cetane boost that improves cold starting and combustion, and reduces emissions.

Techron D Concentrate is effective in older engines and the latest common rail diesel engines. It can be used with all types of diesel fuel including ultra-low sulfur diesel, bio diesel and bio diesel blends. Techron D Concentrate will not harm after treatment devices such as diesel fuel and particulate filters.

Each time owners drive their diesel vehicle; carbon deposits can build up in the fuel system and suppress the engine’s performance. These deposits are found on the exterior tips of the injector, which affects the spray pattern of the fuel into the cylinder; and inside the nozzle spray channels which reduces the flow of fuel.

Diesel vehicle owners who experience loss of power, increased fuel consumption and higher emissions may have inefficient fuel delivery because of deposits in the fuel injection system.

Techron's Precision Clean Technology targets and removes stubborn deposits from the darkest corners of the engine's fuel system. Its unique formula bonds with and breaks apart carbon leftovers such as harmful nozzle deposits, internal diesel injector deposits (IDID), indirect injection (IDI) and high speed direct injection (HSDI) injectors.

In tests, Techron D Concentrate restored injectors that had only 20-percent flow remaining to 99-percent flow. The additive is also effective at removing internal diesel injector deposits, as shown in engine testing and collaborative work with OEMs.

In addition, Techron D Concentrate delivers a high treat of cetane improver which functions by reducing the ignition delay period between first injection of the fuel into the cylinder and the start of combustion.

This combustion enhancing effect improves cold starting; reduces white smoke on start-up; reduces engine noise; lowers particulates, hydrocarbons and carbon monoxide emissions; and reduces nitrogen oxides discharge from heavy duty diesel engines.
