CAMPI, TMA sales grow 64% in September 2022

The Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines, Inc. (CAMPI) and Truck Manufacturers Association (TMA) said that vehicle sales last month grew by 64.2 percent when compared to the same period in 2021.

Based on the groups' consolidated report, September 2022 sales reached 35,282 units against the 21,493 vehicles rolled out to customers in the same month last year.

Last September’s sales output also reflected a 16.9-percent improvement when compared to the 30,185 vehicles delivered to buyers in August 2022.

CAMPI President Atty. Rommel Gutierrez said that “the automotive industry continues its growth momentum, recording a double-digit growth of 64.2 percent in September driven by the increased demand for new motor vehicles.”

Further, the CAMPI and TMA have sold 248,154 units in the full nine months of 2022, which showed a 29.5-percent increase over 191,605 vehicles retailed over the same duration in last year.

“The automotive industry foresees a continued growth in the latter part of the year, benefitting from the improving economy based on the recent growth forecast of 6.5 percent this year – attributed to strong domestic demand and continued easing of pandemic restrictions," Atty Gutierrez added.

The top five automotive distributors in the country are the Toyota Motor Philippines (124,884 units), Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (35,139 units), Ford Philippines (16,244 units), Nissan Philippines Inc. (16,068), and Suzuki Philippines (14,475).
