Carmudi PH Motorcycle Editor to Air Newest TV show 'Ride PH'
In his bid to further promote the motorcycle community, multi-awarded TV host Jay Taruc officially launched his latest TV show, "Ride PH."
"Ride PH" with Jay Taruc is a 30-minute tele-magazine show on GMANews TV which will focus on motorcycle-related subjects.
Taruc, who also serves as Carmudi Magazine Philippines' motorcycle editor, said that his latest show would tap different segments pertaining to the various concerns of the two-wheel community.
"Aside from doing long rides, we will be tackling different areas that would concern the motorcycle community," Taruc added.
The Rider's Profile and My Ride segments feature riders and their exceptional love affair with their bikes. Biker groups share their clubs' experiences on Bike Tribes. Get to see the latest motorcycle products, models, and services in the market on Motor Trends while relevant issues concerning motorcycle riding are discussed on Motor Issues.
"Doing motorcycles for the past 5 years, we have been receiving feedbacks on inquiries about motorcycles. With all those we have been getting, I began to think about answering to the needs by opening a show that would cater to the riding community," Taruc said. "The concept of the show is about riding the Pinoy highways."
Other than presenting the latest in the motorcycle industry, "Ride PH" would also discuss road safety in one of its segments. Along with its host, "Ride PH" advocates safety riding and aims to be a platform for educating the riding public about road safety. Guidelines and tips on road safety will be the focus of Bike Hacks and Rider E.R (Education on the Road).
Asked if he has figured in road crashes, he admitted that he has been on some but nothing fatal.
"I've had my share of accidents. The worst is that I took a rest from riding for five weeks, but no broken bones whatsoever. That is why you need protection when riding," he narrated. "That is why there is a need for proper gear when riding and need to check the motorcycle to make sure it is in top shape."
Further, in the segment Jay Riding, Taruc will show his discoveries and tell the compelling stories of his rides. One of the features to look forward to in the show's first season is the historical Himalayan Team 'Pinas adventure ride.
"Ride PH" also promotes mototourism with Bike Stops and Bike Routes which feature hangouts and routes around the country.
Taruc also noted that the community has become very diversed, growing out of the stigma of masculinity.
"Before, riding the motorcycle was associated with masculinity, now, I’ve seen lady riders and even members of the LGBT community," Taruc shared.
"Ride PH" with Jay Taruc premieres on August 20, 2017, Sunday, at 10pm on GMA News TV.
