Dodge’s electric muscle car to be offered in 3 battery power levels, performance upgrades

The Dodge Charger Daytona SRT Concept will come in three battery power levels, the Stellantis-owned automotive brand announced at the ongoing Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show in Las Vegas.

Confirmed are two 400-volt (V) systems: a 340 kilowatt (kW) battery and a 440kW power cell unit. The 340kW battery reportedly makes 455 horsepower (hp) with two available Dodge Direct Connection performance upgrade packages, eStage 1 and eStage 2, pushing the maximum power output to 495hp and 535hp respectively.

The same goes for the 440kW battery, which makes 590 horses without boost. Equipped with eStage 1, it makes 630hp. The eStage 2 cranks the power level to 670hp.

Additionally, the Michigan-based carmaker hinted at an unannounced 800V battery system that is said to come in the form of a powertrain upgrade package. Performance data for the 800V battery pack is expected to be revealed in the future.

The aforementioned battery power levels and two-stage performance upgrades give the Dodge Charger Daytona SRT Concept nine possible powertrain outputs. This makes the electrified muscle car a flexible platform, performance-wise.

We’re demonstrating how old-school hot-rodding will thrive in an electrified muscle-car future,” said Dodge Chief Executive Officer Tim Kuniskis.
