DOTr implements phase 3 of Service Contracting Program

The Department of Transportation (DOTr) announced yesterday, April 11, that they are starting phase three of the department’s Service Contracting Program. The announcement was made via various media platforms including DOTr’s as well as its Secretary’s official Facebook page.

    Ang pagpapatuloy ng programang Libreng Sakay sa ilalim ng Service Contracting Program Phase 3 ay alinsunod sa direktiba ni Secretary Art Tugade na bigyan ng transport assistance ang ating mga kababayan, lalung-lalo na ang ating medical frontliners at iba pang essential workers. Inaasahan din na bukod sa EDSA Busway ay palalawakin rin ang free ride service sa ibang bahagi ng bansa. (The continuation of the Libreng Sakay program under the Service Contracting Program Phase 3 conforms with the directive of DOTr Secretary Art Tugade to give our countrymen transport assistance, especially our medical frontliners and other essential workers. The department expects that the free ride service will extend from the EDSA Busway to other parts of the country.).

    The department looks forward to helping many commuters as phase three of DOTr’s Service Contracting Program is concurrently implemented with Libreng Sakay program in MRT-3.

    Not only does DOTr aim to help Filipino commuters by offering free rides but also to sustain the livelihood of the country’s public transport drivers and operators amid the pandemic, inflation, and rising fuel prices.
