Excited for Fast and Furious 9? Dodge Announces ‘Road to F9’ Event

Who would have thought that the Fast & Furious movie franchise would reach nine installments?

After a lackluster follow up to the original in the form of 2 Fast 2 Furious, the series was practically dead in the water, but got a rejuvenation shot of sorts in the much more enjoyable The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift helmed by action visionary Justin Lin.

With Lin behind the wheel of the franchise, the Fast and Furious movies got successful with each and every outing, peaking with Fast Five, considered by many to be the best in the series. Lin directed the Fast and Furious from movies 3 to 6, eventually yielding the director’s chair to James Wan for Furious 7 and F. Gary Gray for F8 of the Furious.

Good news for the series’ most ardent fans—Lin is back to give the series its proper conclusion, as he is directing both parts 9 and 10.

To celebrate the upcoming new chapter of its iconic Fast & Furious franchise, Dodge and Universal Pictures announced their plan to serve the fans a massive event, dubbed “The Road to F9,” on January 31, in Miami, Florida.

The event will see the studio drop the all-new trailer for the ninth chapter in the Fast & Furious franchise, as well as host a once-in-a-lifetime concert complete with some of the most popular music stars today. Featuring musical numbers Cardi B, Wiz Khalifa & Charlie Puth and Ozuna—as well as series cast member Ludacris—the fan-centric event will be hosted by the Fast & Furious franchise’s very own Tyrese Gibson, alongside television personality Maria Menounos.

Dodge will be at the event to present exclusive vehicles from the upcoming film, and will have a Dodge Challenger SRT Demon driving simulator onsite for guests ready to ride like Dom Toretto and his crew.

“The Road to F9” will also be attended by series star Vin Diesel, F9 director Justin Lin, plus franchise stars Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster and Nathalie Emmanuel—as well as the latest addition to the Fast & Furious family, John Cena.

“The heart of the Fast & Furious franchise has always been—and will always be—family, and it brings me so much joy that our extended family will be with us to help celebrate the launch of this chapter,” said Vin Diesel. “We are nothing without our ride-or-die fans, and we are thrilled that they will be in Miami to welcome old- and new-school cast and crew, as well as usher in a brand-new era of Fast & Furious.”
