Ford Philippines expressed pride over the latest sales performance that reflected a double-digit increase in its year-to-date and quarterly retail performance.

  • How many units did Ford Philippines sell in September 2022 alone?

  • The Blue Oval brand’s arm in the country has sold 16,244 vehicles in the first nine months of 2022, posting a 10-percent growth over the same period last year.

Leading the strong year-to-date sales charge were the Ford Ranger and Territory. Sales for the brand’s pick-up truck offering went up by 12 percent to 7,484 units, while the Territory, by 29 percent to 6,430 units.

Further, the Ford Territory has retained its leadership in the small sport utility vehicle (SUV) segment after cornering 52 percent share of the market.

For the third quarter of 2022, vehicle sales are at 7,288 units, growing by 50 percent compared to that of 2021. Compared to the second quarter of 2022, the difference is 69 percent.

Ford Philippines also said that it has reached its highest monthly sales performance for 2022 last month after delivering 2,896 examples to customers. The numbers were driven by the next-generation Ford Ranger (1,311 units rolled out to buyers), Territory (812 units), and next-generation Everest (723 units).

“We thank our customers for their continued patronage of the Ford brand, as well as our dealers for their solid partnership in bringing our vehicles closer to more customers nationwide,” Ford Philippines Managing Director Mike Breen was quoted as saying.

“Launching our next-gen vehicles in the last quarter definitely gave our retail performance a big boost, and we are definitely encouraged to sustain the momentum as we near the end of the year with more exciting offers and services for our customers.”

According to Ford Philippines, it was last quarter when the company beefed its lineup with the coming of the next-generation Ranger and Everest to keep up with growing demand for pick-up trucks and SUV models in the market. “The development of both next-gen vehicles started with customers in mind, with Ford teams spending time with consumers around the world to identify exactly what they were looking for in a pick-up truck and in an SUV,” Ford Philippines shared.

Per Ford Philippines, the latest version of the Ranger has an unmistakable “Built Ford Tough” look, which can be attributed to its new grille, rear box side step, wider track and wheelbase, embossed tailgate and LED taillamps, and C-clamp LED headlamps.

Its cabin comes with a Ranger-first digital instrument cluster, 10” or best-in-class 12” portrait touchscreen, 360-degree camera, and SYNC4® with Apple Carplay and Android Auto capability. Aside from that, it is also fitted with an upgraded chassis and suspension to guarantee excellent ride and handling, whether riding with passengers, fully loaded with cargo or towing.

On the other hand, the new-generation Ford Everest also comes with hands-free liftgate and panoramic moonroof in addition to the C-clamp headlights, LED tail lights.

Moreover, the SUV is equipped with a 360-degree camera, Sync 4A with wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto capability and wireless charging pad.

The two vehicles are packaged with a five-year warranty to enhance the ownership experience. “The longer warranty offering will cover the next-gen Ranger and Everest for up to 5 years or total mileage of up to 150,000 kilometers, whichever comes first,” the company explained.

It can be recalled that Ford Philippines kicked off the launch of the two models by having an online reservation platform for the new-generation offerings ahead of the public reveal.

The online portal — available in the Ford Philippines website — serves as a virtual stage where customers can book for their preferred next-gen Ranger or Everest variant – even without going to a Ford dealership physically.

Ford Philippines noted that it has received nearly 500 vehicle reservations and more than 2,000 quote requests have been generated from the online portal since it went online.

    Ford Island Conquest

The launch of the next-generation Ranger and Everest marked the return of the Ford Island Conquest (FIC).

Now in its fifth year, the brand’s national test drive event provides customers an avenue to check out Ford vehicles outside local showrooms. The FIC has a mock-up showroom display and an outdoor test drive course.

Cash discounts and other prizes are also given during FIC events.

Over 800 reservations were received over the last four FIC legs with nearly 2,000 test drives conducted and over 3,000 prospects served.

Per Ford Philippines, the next FIC will be at the SM Seaside Cebu on October 28-30 and at the Bonifacio Global City Amphitheater and Autofocus Test Drive Festival at the SM Mall of Asia Concert Grounds on November 18-20.
