The local arm of Guangzhou Automotive Company (GAC) has revealed that it will be offering a bullet-proof trim of the GS8.
Without announcing the introduction date yet, Legado Motors Inc. Product Director Brennan Lim made the announcement during a virtual roundtable, saying that a version of the flagship seven-seater sports utility vehicle (SUV) will soon be retailed with firearms protection.
This forthcoming offering will likely be fitted with a level-six ballistic protection — commonly used as safeguard against sub-machine guns.
Aside from the bullet-proofing, expect no major changes to be done on the SUV's additional variation. The current GAC GS8 model is powered by a GAC MOTOR 320T engine mated to a six-speed automatic transmission that is capable of being driven on any road conditions.
The GAC GS8 is available in three variants such as 4x2 GE, 4x2 GE Sports and 4x4 GL, and is priced at P1.958 million, P2.226 million and P2.466 million, respectively.
