Goodyear lights up iconic signage to celebrate 125th anniversary

Goodyear celebrated its 125th anniversary by lighting its iconic signage at its headquarters in Ohio, which is now Goodyear Hall.

Per the tire company, the historic Goodyear sign has become an icon for the company and the city of Akron. The said light board — which has not been in operation for nearly a decade — was restored with the help of The Well CDC, a nonprofit organization dedicated to enhancing Akron’s Middlebury neighborhood.

“This project shines a light on Goodyear's continued commitment to invest in Akron and in the communities where we live and work. We are thankful to work together with great community partners like The Well CDC to support the neighborhood that Goodyear has called home for the past 125 years,” commented Goodyear Senior Vice President and Chief Communications Officer Laura Duda.

Goodyear celebrated its 125th birthday last August 29.

“The iconic Goodyear sign is synonymous with the City of Akron. To see it lit up again in celebration of the company's long-standing commitment to this city is a special moment for all who call Akron home. I look forward to many more years of Goodyear's partnership and impact in Akron,” Akron Mayor Dan Horrigan was quoted saying.

Goodyear is one of the leading tire brands in the Philippines. The company’s local lineup includes products like the Assurance Comforttred, Assurance Triplemax, Assurance Duraplus, and Assurance Fuelmax.

The American tire brand has numerous dealership locations in the country covering the majority of the Philippine archipelago.
