But getting a good engine and great features shouldn't always mean you have to pay upwards of Php 2 million for a car. In this list, we gathered the 9 best SUVs that won't break the bank.

GAC GS3

GAC is a brand that’s not very popular in the Philippines. However, GAC’s lineup consists of pretty promising cars that start at very cheap prices. One of these cars in the GAC GS3, a sporty compact crossover SUV that starts at just PhP 888,000. The base model of this crossover SUV is equipped with a 1.5 liter E-Turbo engine and a 6 speed automatic transmission. The GS3 seats up to five passengers, and has great safety features such as Electronic Stability Program, Hydraulic Brake Assist, Hill-start Hold Control, and Hill Descent Control.

Toyota Rush

  Despite being a relatively new vehicle, the Toyota Rush is a strong contender in the local SUV market. With its great features, versatile interior, and low price, the Rush is a welcome addition to this list. The base model is equipped with a 1.5 liter 4 cylinder engine and a 5 speed manual transmission. Nissan Juke

Starting at just PhP 1.02 million, this cross between a sports car and SUV makes sure you stand out on the road. The Juke is fitted with a 1.5 liter 4 Cylinder engine and an XTRONIC CVT. Safety tech features are aplenty, with a reverse camera, Electronic Brakeforce Distribution, Brake Assist, and dual front airbags. Suzuki Jimny With its rugged looks and vintage styling, the Suzuki Jimny is one of the most iconic off roaders you’ll see today. The all-new Jimny has just been redesigned, and it looks fresher and bolder than before. Starting at PhP 1.05 million, the base model Jimny comes with a 1.5 liter engine, a 5 speed manual transmission, and seating for up to four people. It also comes with great safety features such as Hill Hold Control, Side Impact Door Beams, Anti-lock Brake System, Hill Descent Control, and reverse parking sensors.  

Kia Seltos

    The All-New Kia Seltos now sport a fresh design, with a facelifted front fascia and modernized styling. Starting at Php 1.09 million, this dynamic subcompact SUV sports a 2.0 liter 4 Cylinder engine and an Intelligent Variable Transmission. The base model Seltos comes with dual front airbags, Anti-lock Brake System, and child locks.  

BAIC BJ20

BAIC’s crossover SUV is the BJ20, a car with a strong design and smooth engineering. Fitted with a  1.5 liter engine and a CVT, the BJ20 comes standard with notable safety tech features such as Anti-lock braking system, Electronic Brakeforce Distribution, Electronic Stability Program, Brake Assist System, Traction Control, Hill Hold Control, and parking sensors. The BAIC BJ20 starts at PhP 1.14 million.   Ssangyong Korando Ssangyong is still establishing their place in the Philippine market, and they may just do so with the Korando. The all new Korando starts at just PhP 1.29 million, and it comes with a 1.5 liter engine with a 6 speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters, along with dual front airbags, Anti-lock Braking System, a keyless entry system, Cruise Control, and an immobilizer.

Isuzu MU-X

Isuzu’s MU-X is one of the most popular SUVs in the local market, and with good reason. This handsome, boxy SUV is one of the cheapest mid-size SUVs in the market.
