Here’s what to expect at the upcoming Toyota Gazoo Racing Festival 2023

The Toyota Gazoo Racing (TGR) Festival 2023 is set to bring excitement at the Quirino Grandstand in Manila on August 23-24.

Open to the public, the upcoming two-day event, is dubbed as Toyota Motor Philippines’ (TMP) biggest gathering of motorsports fans and enthusiasts celebrating the shared love and passion for cars and racing.

Here are the programs lined up for the two-day program:

As reported earlier, Morizo (Toyota Motor Corporation Chairman Akio Toyoda’s racing pseudonym) will provide world-class driving exhibitions on the first day of the TGR Festival 2023. He will be joined by TGR drivers Katsuta Norihiko and Sasaki Masahiro.

Per TMP, the three will use the famous TGR race cars in their local exhibition namely the Toyota WRC Yaris and Red Bull GR Corolla.

To showcase the country’s racing prowess, Alex Perez, Luis Gono and TGR Ambassador Marlon Stockinger will also display their skills in drifting and gymkhana using the GR Supra, GR Yaris, and GR 86. Filipino celebrity Ryan Agoncillo will also take part in the driving action as the representative of TGR-Philippines in the TGR Vios Cup.

Aside from seeing the local GR models run the tracks, the public will also have the opportunity to ride shotgun on them with professional racers. To better appreciate the team’s racing teamwork and technical expertise, car aficionados can also see GR race cars being prepared and serviced at the pit.

Further, TMP will present official GR merchandise, which will also be made for sale at the GR Garage.

Assuring that the fun is not limited to the tracks, local bands and artists will perform for the TGR 2023 Festival audience.

For the first day, Ben and Ben, and Ely Buendia will headline the performances on the first day, followed by Parokya ni Edgar and Kamikazee on the second day.

According to TMP, more artists and personalities will join the aforementioned performers.

On the final day, finalists for the 2023 season of the TGR Gran Turismo (GT) Cup will face-off at the Grandstand to determine who will don the country’s colors for the competition’s Asia Regional Rounds.
