Honda retails 1.6-M units worldwide in Jan.-May 2023

Honda has sold more than 1.6 million units in the first five months of 2023.

According to a report released by the Japanese automotive brand, it was able to deliver a total of 1.645 million cars from January to May of 2023. Of the said figure, 270,867 units were sold domestically while some 1.375 million vehicles were sold overseas.

Looking at the month of May alone, Honda sold 44,510 units in Japan while it sold 284,556 automobiles outside the country.

For the abovementioned month, Honda saw a 119.4 percent increase in its domestic sales compared to its sales in Japan at the same time last year. Likewise, the Tokyo-headquartered company saw a 137.4 percent increase in its overseas May sales compared to its overseas deliveries in May of 2022.

Honda did not say which models were among its best sellers, but in the Philippines, its lineup consists of the Brio, the sedan and hatchback versions of the City and Civic, the BR-V, HR-V, and CR-V, as well as the all-new Civic Type R.

In terms of production, Honda managed to build a total of 1.645 million units globally. Of the mentioned number, 270,867 were made in Japan while approximately 1.375 million units were manufactured from the company’s overseas facilities.

To note, Honda has production factories in regions such as North America, Asia, and China.
