Initial 3: Audi RS Q8 now reaches PH roads
It was not long ago when the Audi RS 3 entered the country early January, and here comes the all-new RS Q8 hitting the showroom already.
Coming in with the Audi RS 6 Avant, the RS Q8 is now made available by Audi Philippines, spearheading the initial three models that comprises the local roster of the high-performance division of Audi AG—the Audi Sport.
Back in December, Audi Philippines was expecting the aforementioned model to reach the country first , but due to some constraints, there were some slight changes in the arrival of the model.
Said to be the most dynamic model in the Q range of SUVs, the all-new 2021 RS Q8 is equipped with a 4.0-liter, twin-turbocharged TFSI V8 engine, capable of producing 600 horsepower and 800 Nm of torque. This power mill is mated to an eight-speed tiptronic transmission. With the said matching, the newly-introduced vehicle can reach 0-100 kilometers per hour in just 3.8 seconds, and can jump to 200 km/h in 13.7 seconds. With such numbers, the all-new Audi RS Q8 set the fastest lap time for production SUVs, at seven minutes and 42 seconds on the infamous Nurburgring track.
Despite the ability cover astounding numbers in performance, newest offering Audi RS Q8 is also fuel efficient because of a mild-hybrid system. In certain conditions, it can let the vehicle coast for up to 40 seconds with the engine switched off. Aside from that, the engine’s cylinder-on-demand system, can deactivate some of the cylinders to reduce fuel consumption.
Just like the rest of the RS models, the all-new RS Q8 is propelled by Audi Sport’s quattro permanent all-wheel drive system that splits the drive power between the front and rear axles depending on available traction.
The 2021 RS Q8 wears the RS adaptive air suspension sport with controlled damping, which can be set up toward dynamic handling even while retaining the comfortable ride. Also found in the vehicle are an all-wheel steering system, RS ceramic brakes and the RS sport exhaust. Apart from that, the Audi drive select system in the 2021 RS Q8 helps alter handling and responses as well as tune the engine’s notes.
For its exterior, it is fitted with Singleframe, RS-specific radiator grille, side air inlets and other trim included in the extended leather package; HD Matrix headlamps; wide quattro blisters above the wheel arches that provide space for the model’s more generous wheel track; the RS roof-edge spoiler and rear skirt with a diffuser clip that provide increased downforce; and 23-inch sport alloy wheels.
As you enter the cabin, you will be greeted with special RS displays and graphics in the Audi virtual cockpit and MMI, including a shift light. The RS badges on the sport seats, illuminated door sill trim and flat-bottom leather steering wheel complements its distinct look.
The latest model Audi RS Q8 offering has air quality package, seats with massage function, a premium Bang and Olufsen audio system, carbon fiber trim, an extended leather package, and soft-closing doors to match the more than 30 assistive features.
Audi Philippines will be bringing numerous models—including the R8 supercar— set to be launched in the Philippines throughout 2021.
