Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC) might be bringing back the Adventure nameplate.

    MMPC noted that the soon-to-be-revealed concept car will be a seven-seater sport utility vehicle (SUV), which “embodies Mitsubishi Motors’ commitment to provide fulfilling mobility lifestyles that awaken the adventurous spirit of drivers and provide excitement for everyone on board.”

    Various speculations about the concept SUV have surfaced on the internet. Some say it could be the next-generation Mitsubishi Montero Sport while others suspect that it might be an XForce with a longer wheelbase.

    However, the constant mentioning of the word “adventures” in MMPC’s social media posts seems to suggest otherwise.

    A quick visit to MMPC’s Facebook page will show captions such as “Get ready to witness the future of family ADVENTURES!” and “A new benchmark for family adventures.”

    One photo was even made with the phrase “THE FUTURE OF FAMILY ADVENTURES.”

    In the Philippines, the Mitsubishi Adventure has become a popular nameplate and has competed with the likes of the Isuzu Crosswind and Toyota Revo in the then-called Asian utility vehicle segment aka AUV.

    The Mitsubishi Adventure became a hit among growing Filipino families as well as transport service operators. It was available in both gasoline- and diesel-fed mills, which allowed those in the market for a family ferry or those

    It was offered in both gasoline and diesel variants, which meant that it could serve the needs of many customers.

    As an example, the 2005 Mitsubishi Adventure could be had with either a 2.4-liter diesel engine or a 1.9-liter gasoline powerplant. The former made 72 horsepower (hp) with 143 Newton-meters (Nm) of torque while the latter put out some 142 hp with 164 Nm.

    Both engines were mated to a five-speed manual transmission.
