J. Fajardo Bridge closed for seven months for full replacement

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) announced that the J. Fajardo Bridge in Manila City will be closed to traffic for seven months.

The closure started February 1 for the demolition of the whole bridge, which measures 14 meters long and 11 meters wide.

Based on the plan the of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), the full replacement of the bridge in Sampaloc near Carola St. will be completed by September this year.

A re-routing plan will be implemented within the duration of the project and motorists are advised to take alternative routes.

For motorists heading R. Magsaysay, they may use Vicente Cruz and D. Tuazon while those bound to AH Lacson Avenue, may use via Espana Boulevard.

Other routes going to AH Lacson Avenue include:

  • Carola: J Fajardo to Geronimo
  • Geronimo: Carola to G. Tuazon
  • Cristobal: J. Fajardo to G. Tuazon
