Jeep UK unveils special-edition Wrangler as brand turns 80

Jeep launches a special-edition Wrangler model commemorating the brand’s 80th anniversary.

It features a Neutral Grey Metallic grille flanked by full-LED high-visibility headlights with auto high beam control on each side. The 80th anniversary special-edition model also wears the 80th Anniversary badge on the front wheel arches as well as a commemorative plaque on the rear swing gate.

The trail-rated 80th Anniversary Jeep Wrangler rides on 18-inch two-tone alloy wheels with Granite Crystal accents.

Inside are black leather seats with tungsten stitching and the 80th Anniversary badge. They are complemented by a leather-wrapped dashboard with contrast stitching and Berber floor mats.

Sitting at the center of the dashboard is the Uconnect 8.4 NAV system. It features an 8.4-inch touchscreen panel with smartphone integration as well as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. audio is delivered to a nine-speaker Alpine audio system with a 552W subwoofer.

Blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-path detection, rear camera, front and rear parking sensors, Keyless Enter 'N Go, forward collision warning, advanced brake assist, and adaptive cruise control with stop, come as standard safety features.

Jeep also equips the 80th Anniversary Wrangler with the Jeep Command-Trac four-wheel-drive system.

The American automaker also updates its current Wrangler lineup, adding “enhanced safety features and increased off-road capabilities” to the 2021 year model.

Updates to one of Jeep’s longest-running nameplates include new safety features for on-road driving such as adaptive cruise control (ACC) with stop and go, accident emergency braking (AEB), and auto high beams.

Off-road driving has been improved with the addition of Selec-Speed control, an off-road version of cruise control, and a selectable tire fill alert.

Jeep also packs the Wrangler Rubicon with the new Off-Road+ (OR+) mode which allows for a unique powertrain and chassis tuning. The OR+ adjusts the ABS, ESC, accelerator pedal, traction control, and transmission calibrations of the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon during high range “sand” performance and low range “rock” activities.

The 4x4 specialist adds three new color options to the current Wrangler lineup: Hydro Blue, Snazzberry, and Sarge Green. The Rubicon will also be available in a limited-edition Nacho paint.

Both the 2021 Jeep Wrangler range and the 80th-anniversary special-series are now available in the UK with prices starting from £49,450.
