MMDA Lists Most Flood Prone Areas in Metro Manila

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) recently identified at least 21 of the most flood-prone areas in the Metro Manila. According to the government agency, the said areas have continually experienced extreme flood incidents when rainfall intensity is more than 50 mm/hr or close to typhoon Ondoy’s magnitude.     Below is the list of the flood prone areas which motorists should avoid in case of terrible weather conditions:

Manila

• The streets of España, Antipolo and Maceda • P. Burgos and Manila City Hall • R. Papa to Rizal Avenue

Makati

• Osmeña to Skyway (northbound and southbound) • Don Bosco University area • Buendia -South Super Highway (northbound and southbound) • Pasong Tamo Magallanes Tunnel

Quezon City

• EDSA to North Avenue • Philcoa area • Biak na Bato/ Quezon Avenue- Victory Avenue • EDSA to Camp Aguinaldo Gate 3 • North Avenue in front of Trinoma Mall • C-5- Bayani Road • NLEX- Balintawak Cloverleaf

Pasig City

• C-5 to Bagong Ilog

Parañaque City

• West Service Road, Merville • C5- McKinley Road

Pasay City

• Buendia Extension- Macapagal Avenue

Muntinlupa City

• East Service Road to Sales Street

Mandaluyong

• EDSA- SM Megamall

Taguig City

• C-5 to BCDA
