New Mitsubishi PH president vows to bring brand closer to customers

Incoming MMPC president Takeshi Hara

The newly appointed president and chief executive officer of Mitsubishi Motor Philippines Corporation (MMPC) has vowed to bring the Japanese brand closer to its customers.

During the official turnover of leadership, incoming chief Takeshi Hara said that in his capacity as the local distributors’ new leader, he will develop and execute more programs that focus on the customer experience to maintain its strong number two positioning in the local automotive sales this year.

In his speech, Hara cited MMPC’s strong following in the country.

“As you all know, the Philippines is a very important market to Mitsubishi Motors as our brand is very fortunate to receive such strong support from the Filipino market. For decades, MMPC has maintained a strong number two position in the Philippine automotive industry thanks to our loyal customers, strong dealer partners, dedicated employees and of course you, our media partners,” Hara told the attendees of the virtual presentation.

With that, he shared that the company’s thrust is to be more customer-service driven.

“My colleagues and I will do our best to bring the Mitsubishi Motors brand closer to the heart of the Filipinos. Similar to our products that are designed to cater to various lifestyles and life stages, we will use each moment as an inspiration to provide more value to our offerings and further improve our service,” Hara said.

According to him, the MMPC will be forging brand partnerships to help them align better with the interest and considerations of the market and will boost “brand love by supporting all thing that matter” to their clients.

“My goal is to realize customer-oriented operations through customer satisfaction, customer journey, and how to increase our loyal customers. That is the key and only key for future success. My motto is ‘Where there’s a will, there’s a way.’ I would like to create new ways that are appealing to our valued customers.”

The ceremonial leadership turnover was made yesterday, with outgoing company President and Chief Executive Officer Mutsuhiro Oshikiri passing the helm to Hara.

He also added that he is as committed as Oshikiri to “promote the Mitsubishi Motors brand” and “present a wonderful car life with Mitsubishi Motors for our Filipino customers.”

For his part, Oshikiri attested that his successor is a “well-seasoned Mitsubishi Motors executive who has extensive experience in sales, marketing, aftersales and business operations.” “I have no doubt that he will propel MMPC to new heights,” he  confirmed.

Prior to his latest position, Hara was the executive vice president and assistant to the president and CEO and was the president for Mitsubishi Motors Sales Caribbean Inc., MMC’s subsidiary and distributor in Puerto Rico from 2019 to 2021.

He joined Mitsubishi Motors Corporation (MMC) in 1993.
