PH-spec Mazda CX-60 gets upgraded

MANILA: Mazda Philippines has fitted performance and comfort-related enhancements on the new CX-60.

Per the Bermaz Auto Philippines (the brand’s official distributor in the country), the enhancements that can be found in the midsize sport utility vehicle furthers its class-leading style, quality, and refinement.

“Since its launch in the Philippines, more than 800 CX-60 SUVs have been sold. This makes the Philippines the largest market for the CX-60 in Asia outside of Japan, a testament to it being well-received by Filipino buyers,” Mazda Philippines President and Chief Executive Officer Steven Tan was quoted as saying.

“The new CX-60 enriches that by offering new refinements, making it even more unmatched in every way. These are much more than skin-deep, and are part of our commitment to continuous improvement,” he added.

Vehicle specifications

According to Mazda’s local arm, the new CX-60 elevated ride experience without cutting down overall driving experience with the following modifications:

• Softer rear springs with new bump stops and dampers
• Firmer front suspensions
• relocated front knuckle mounts
• Recalibrated steering and stability systems

Its front-engine rear-wheel drive mechanical layout evenly distributes lateral and longitudinal workload between the two axles — saying that with the powertrain at the center, power is transmitted more sufficiently.

Turning radius has been trimmed down 5.4 meters — lesser than what its competitors in the market offer.

Further, the new Mazda CX-60 features a better-quality gearbox that dishes out smoother and a more responsive combustion-engine-to-electric motor transitions as well a wider gear range.

Propelling the upgraded Mazda CX-60 is an inline-six-cylinder engine (that is either powered by gasoline or diesel. Thy can provide the following numbers below:

Both engines are paired to the Mazda Hybrid technology composed of a 48-volt hybrid system and a lithium-ion energy bank.

Meanwhile, Mazda takes pride in the CX-60’s enhanced interior insulation against noise, vibration, and harshness with its thicker and denser sound insulator (on the dashboard, and trunk side trim, with increased coverage that includes the upper part of the cowl).

Rattles inside the cabin are also reduced, thanks to its new steering column joint and reinforced doors.

• Panoramic sunroof
• Dual-zone climate control with rear vents.

Further, the midsize sport utility vehicle is equipped with the latest generation Mazda Connect that lets occupants connect via wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. This system is matched to a 12-speaker Bose Sound system.

Retailed in Rhodium White Premium, Soul Red Crystal, Machine Gray, Jet Black, Sonic Silver, Platinum Quartz, and Deep Crystal Blue, the new Mazda CX-60 can be had in the following prices:

• 3.3L AWD HEV Turbo: P 2.89 million
• 3.3L AWD HEV Turbo-D Sport: P2.99 million

Every unit is packaged with a five-year Free Service Plan that covers the expenses of periodic maintenance at either six-month or 10,000-kilometer intervals, for up to five years or 100,000 kilometers, whichever comes first. This is on top of a three-year bumper-to-bumper warranty and a five-year hybrid battery warranty.
