Rox Motor enters SEA market

Rox Motor has been formally launched in the Philippine market.

Introduced by the Transcorp Group (an affiliate of Sinoequip Incorporated, and Transequip Enterprises), the Chinese electric vehicle marque entered the local market by unveiling the 01 sport utility vehicle (SUV).

In an interview, Transcorp Group Bryan Chua expressed belief in the new offering, noting that he is gaining popularity in other parts of the world such as Azerbaijan, Kuwait and Qatar.

“The new offering is perfect for the Philippines because we are an SUV country, it is a well-rounded vehicle and it is perfect for glamping,” he told Carmudi Philippines..

Vehicle specifications

The Rox 01 is 5,295 millimeters (mm) long; 1,980 mm wide; and 1,869 mm tall with a 3,010-mm wheelbase, 205-mm ground clearance, and 700-mm water wading depth.

The boxy SUV is fitted with a flipped L-shaped LED head- and taillamps, chiseled front and rear fascia. In addition, the vehicle rides on 20-21-inch wheels polished black or chrome finish either wrapped with radial or all-terrain tires — depending on the trim chosen.

Rich portions of tan, black, or white leather cover the Rox 01’s seats, center console. In addition, digital displays can be found in front (12.3-inch gauge cluster and 15.7-inch infotainment system), and a monitor at the rear.

The middle row comes with electronically-adjustable aviation chairs and a trunk that has a depth of over two meters.

Powering the Rox 01 are dual electric motors with a 56.01-kilowatt-hour battery and a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine that acts as a generator.

When fully-charged, the vehicle battery offers an electric range of up to 235 kilometers. Combined with a full tank, it can do more than 1,000 kilometers.

Further, the Rox 01 has five drive modes: Snow, Mud, Rock, Sand, and Water.

Among its nifty features are its vehicle-to-load function, a trailer camping set, step board, and a huge roof rack as original equipment add-ons.
