Tata fields Intra V10 to contend in PH CV market

Pilipinas Autogroup Inc. (PilipinasAuto) has officially fielded its newest commercial vehicle offering in the country, the Tata Intra V10.

    Set to compete against the likes of the Toyota Lite Ace and the Suzuki Carry (which both run on gasoline-engines), the Tata Intra V10 is equipped with an 800cc diesel engine that can dish out a modest 40 horsepower and 96Nm of torque. The aforementioned power mill is different compared to the same model found in its home country, which delivers as much as 44 horses.

    The compact truck’s engine is matched to a five-speed cable shift mechanism gearbox. According to Tata, the vehicle can do 16 kilometers-per-liter consumption.

    Outside, the Tata Intra V10 has that no-nonsense look just like its competitors in the market. The vehicle is 4,282 millimeter long, 1,639mm wide, and 1,903mm tall with a turning radius of 4,625mm and a 2,2250mm wheelbase, enabling it to go through tight spots around the metro. The vehicle sits on 13-inch tires.

    On the inside, it has some amenities that would help drivers get through their chores. Aiding them are the digital cluster gauge in front of the huge steering wheel, an integrated head unit in the center of the dashboard that supports radio, and USB connectivity, a lockable glove box, a parcel shelf on the passenger side of the dashboard, and additional cubby holes on the door trims, Surprisingly, the vehicle also comes with power windows, air-conditioning system and a USB charging port.

    Further, the vehicle is said to have a payload capacity of 800 kilograms.

    Moreover, the Intra V10 is offered with a 45,000-kilometer (km) or three-years scheduled service package and a three-year or 120,000 km comprehensive extended warranty.

    PilipinasAuto also announced that the spare parts supply will not be a problem as such is being retailed through online selling platform Lazada.

    What made us more excited about testing it is that a video was shown during the presentation wherein a six-foot-four-inch driver was able to fit inside the cabin.

    Available in various body types to suit the needs of customers (which include dropside, steel container truck, pick up van), the pricing of the Tata Intra V10 starts at P545,000.

    For his part, PilipinasAuto Director Jon Fernandez expressed firm confidence in the new product, saying that it will be “a preferred choice for the customers across the country.”

    “With a robust network of sales and service outlets in the Philippines, we are committed to improving and enhancing our customer’s experience with the Intra V10. For ease of acquisition, partnerships are in place with major banks like BDO, BPI, Security Bank, PS Bank, Maybank and Eastwest Bank for affordable auto financing products. Tata Intra V10 will now be available at as low as 99,000 peso down payment promo financing scheme. Additionally, Tata Genuine Parts are now available online to help boost vehicle uptime and lower the total cost of ownership,” he noted.
