Toyota Mobility Solutions PH helps local seafood wholesaler streamline ops with digital logistics platform

Toyota Mobility Solutions Philippines, Inc. (TMSPH) has introduced one of its flagship mobility solutions, that digitalizes logistics processes, assures operating efficiency and supports growth of local businesses.

The Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) subsidiary said that the logistics platform is designed to automate daily planning, which covers delivery routing, loading optimization, vehicle assignment, and trip booking and provides real-time delivery status tracking for daily management of business.

For the initial phase of the digital platform, TMPSH offered its services to Mida Food Distributors Incorporated.

 

TMSPH noted that through the aforementioned system, the local seafood importer, distributor, and processor can address the limitations in its delivery operations like route planning, as well as challenges with truck capacity regarding demand and product load, and lack of visibility in delivery status.

“The Logistics Platform streamlines administration and generates the ideal route and loading plan that easily integrates the variable delivery conditions. This supports Mida Food’s goal to achieve optimal truck utilization, which is one of the considerations in lowering the delivery costs. Drivers are also equipped with a mobile application for real-time sending of delivery status updates to Mida Food,” the company explained.

Prior to the platform introduction, the two brands conducted ground operation studies to improve end-to-end processes, starting from order taking to warehouse operation, and dispatch. For the said process TMSPH applied the brand’s quality management principles and effective practices from its solid experience in manufacturing, warehouse management, logistics and distribution in the country.

“TMSPH has been instrumental in modernizing the way we plan, manage, and track our goods movement during our last mile fulfilment. Their inputs, as we continue to improve our systems, have been invaluable, and together we are realizing efficiencies through their logistics platform”, Mida Food President and Chief Operating Officer Enrique Miguel Valles said.
