A rather new player in the local subcompact crossover segment, the Maxus D60 looks to give other newcomers like the Chery Tiggo and Geely Coolray a run for their money.

The SAIC Motor-owned automotive marque introduced the D60 in the Philippine automotive scene last February 2021. That said, the Maxus D60 offers modern looks and amenities that might pique the interest of tech-savvy Filipino car buyers.

It’s currently offered in two variants: the D60 Elite and the D60 Pro.

But before we break down the differences between the two variants in question, let’s take a look at what they share in common.

The dimensions of both variants are virtually identical. Overall length is 4,720mm, overall width is at 1,860mm, while the overall height is 1,736mm. Wheelbase is also at 2,760mm for both models.

Both D60s are powered by a 1.5-liter, four-cylinder, turbocharged and intercooled direct injection gasoline mill. The engine, for both the Elite and the Pro, is mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

This powertrain setup allows both D60s to reach a maximum power output of 166hp and 250Nm of torque.

Suspension-wise, both models share MacPhersons at the front and a multi-link arrangement at the rear. They are supported by disc brakes front and back.

Inside, both the Maxus D60 Elite and the D60 Pro are equipped with an eight-inch touchscreen infotainment system with USB and Bluetooth connectivity. Audio is sent to six speakers distributed around the cabin of Maxus’s compact crossover.

Now, let’s look at what sets them apart.
