WATCH: The Modern Jeepney is Officially On the Road

The Department of Transportation's (DOTr) Public Utility Vehicle Modernization Program (PUVMP) is officially on following the start of operations of its pilot operator, the Senate Employees Transport Service Cooperative (SETSCO) last week.

Initially, 15 modern jeepneys based on Isuzu Philippines' Euro 4 QKR77light-truck platform are serving the Star City-Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) to Paranaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX) route that's operated by SETSCO, with 20 more units expected to join the fleet before the end of the year.

CARMUDI PHILIPPINES was there at the inauguration of the modern jeepneys and was able to join a brief ride in one unit around the CCP complex. Check out the modern jeepney in the video below.
