About Foton Philippines

Foton, a subsidiary of BAIC Group, is one of the more rapidly growing automakers in the Philippines. The Chinese automaker started competing in the Philippine auto industry in 2006 and has, since, never looked back. The operations in the Philippines are managed by Foton Motor Philippines, Inc. (FMPI), which is owned by United Asia Automotive Group, Inc.

As of now, Foton offers three passenger vehicles in the Philippines, the Toplander (SUV), Toano (Van), Thunder (Pickup Truck), and the Gratour iM6 (MPV).

As per the stats gathered and published by CAMPI, TMA, and AVID, Foton sold 4,293 vehicles across 2019 and grabbed a 1.03% market share in the Philippine automobile industry. Moreover, the sales figures were 3.67% higher than those of 2018, where Foton had managed to trade 4,141 units.
