Mitsubishi Mirage G4 Overview
While Mitsubishi has completely shifted its focus on UVs in almost all the Asian markets where it has its presence, including that of the Philippines, the Japanese manufacturer continues to cater to the entry level segment with the Mirage hatchback and its sedan counterpart, the Mirage G4. Also known as Attrage in many other global markets, the Mitsubishi Mirage G4 is the only sedan currently from Mitsubishi Philippines, and rivals the entry level compact sedans from other car makers.
Mitsubishi Mirage G4 History
When Mitsubishi started drafting the plan of Mirage hatchback as its most affordable and entry level product, it also worked simultaneously on its sedan version on the sidelines. It was the result of this idea that the Mitsubishi Mirage G4 went on sale soon after the launch of Mirage hatchback, back in 2013. The Mitsubishi Mirage G4 was launched as a compact entry level sedan to offer the visual appeal and space of a three-box sedan at the price of a hatchback.
Since 2013, the Mitsubishi Mirage G4 is on sale in the Philippines, and is still in its first generation avatar. In all these years, this compact sedan has received few feature additions, and extremely mild changes on the inside.
Mitsubishi Mirage G4 Highlight
Since 2013, Mitsubishi has been offering total three different Mirage G4 Variants – GLX MT, GLX CVT and GLS CVT. All these three variants of the Mitsubishi Mirage G4 source their power from a 1.2-litre three cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine, which it shares with its hatchback counterpart, the Mirage. This engine, which is offered with both 5-speed manual gearbox in the GLX MT and a CVT gearbox in GLX CVT and GLS CVT variants, churns out a maximum power output of 78 PS, while the peak torque output of this engine is rated 100 Nm.
Given its entry level positioning, the Mitsubishi Mirage G4 is pegged as a basic car which is equipped with only the bare basic essentials which are actually usable while the car is being driven. Features such as a touchscreen infotainment system, automatic climate control, multi-functional steering wheel, tilt adjustable steering wheel, powered outside rear view mirrors and power windows have made their way in the Mitsubishi Mirage G4. On the outside too, the Mitsubishi Mirage G4 is equipped with bits like fog lamps and alloy wheels, but misses out on LED treatment for the lights, which make the sedan look a bit archaic.
Mitsubishi Mirage G4 Safety
The compulsory safety features given the current norms, such as dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, ISOFIX mounts for child seats and brake override system are present there in the Mitsubishi Mirage G4.
Mitsubishi Mirage G4 Fuel Consumption
The Mitsubishi Mirage G4 is one terrific sedan when it comes to scoring fuel efficiency figures. This compact sedan from Mitsubishi promises a fuel economy of a whopping 23.1 km/l from its 1.2-litre petrol engine, which is easily the best in class figure.
