Alfa Romeo updates the Giulia and the Stelvio

Following the axing of the GTV and the 8C, and the end of the 4C in conjunction with the Maserati GranTurismo, all that the Alfa Romeo lineup now comprises of are the Giulietta hatchback, Giulia, and the Stelvio. While the Giulietta hatchback is now a decade-old and craving for an overhaul, the other two Alpha Romeos, the Giulia and the Stelvio have, at last, made out of the production facilities in their newest avatars. We are also aware of the fact that the all-new Tonale is around the corner, too. However, a breath of fresh air was needed big time, and the updated Giulia and Stelvio should serve the purpose rather well. Coming on to the updated pair, the appearance of both the Alfa Romeo Giulia and Stelvio remain to be majorly similar to the pre-update times. There are, however, some new trim pieces and colors options to choose from. Moving inside the cars, we find a brand-new center-mounted touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay. The size of this touchscreen ranges from 8-inch to 9-inch depending on the model you pick. As for the instrument cluster, there are the conventional old-school analogue dials with a seven-inch TFT sitting between them. Then we have the Advanced Driver Assistance Systems, autonomous driving functionality with lane-keep assist, self-steering capabilities, and much more. Similar to the exterior, Alfa Romeo hasn't spent much time making changes on the mechanical front either. With that said, under the hood are also the same old four-pot gasoline- and diesel-fed motors which produce a maximum power of 187 to 276 horsepower. All these engines come mated to an eight-speed automatic gearbox, which then comes equipped with paddle shifters. Super, Sprint, Lusso, and Veloce are the different variant options, and all-wheel-drive comes as a part of the standard equipment in Sprint, Lusso, and Veloce trims.
