Aston Martin Manila brings in the DBX SUV

Following the vehicle's global launch last 2019, Aston Martin, through its Philippine arm DBPhils Motorsports, Inc., has finally brought in the DBX.

With the first rollout from the production line happening June last year, the latest offering is the brand’s first dip in the luxury SUV market in its 108-year history.

In the country, the local importer, which is under the Tagle Group of Companies, unveiled the all-new DBX via social media page.

Touted as the SUV with the soul of a sports car, the latest product is said to be the culmination of the development program started in 2015, which “signals a new era in Aston Martin’s pursuit to deliver exceptional performance, style and usability in a segment previously unexplored by the world-famous manufacturer.”

Aston Martin Manila President and Chairman Marc Tagle expressed enthusiasm that the model will be welcomed by its target market here.

“We are confident that this move of Aston Martin will be warmly embraced by the Filipino market. Admittedly, we are an SUV nation. We love to cruise with our adventurous spirit, and bring family, friends, and loved ones along for the ride. Aston Martin captures this passion and adds its trademark luxury and beauty for the ultimate driving experience,” Tagle was quoted as saying.

Aston Martin Director of Operations for Asia Pacific Patrik Nilsson said, “In Asia Pacific countries that have commenced deliveries, including Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, and further afield in USA, UK, China, and New Zealand, the DBX has already built strong market share among the luxury SUVs.”

“We’re proud to have particularly strong market share right here in Asia Pacific,” he added.

Meanwhile, Aston Martin Manila Marketing Head Fielmarie-Grace Tan promised that the all-new Aston Martin DBX will live up to the expectations of every Aston Martin owner or enthusiast.

“Aston Martin owners are those who love cars that are not just jaw-dropping to look at, but also thrilling to drive, and the DBX lives up to these qualities. This is a pivotal moment for the brand, and we could not have been more excited to showcase this to the Philippine Market,” Tan said.

The all-new Aston Martin DBX, as mentioned in our earlier articles, is powered by four-liter, twin-turbocharged V8 engine that has a peak output of 542hp and 700Nm torque — the same engine equipped in the  Vantage and the DB11—both currently retailed locally. Aside from that the turbocharged V8 has a cylinder deactivation feature to enhance fuel economy.

The said engine is matched to a nine-speed torque convertor automatic gearbox, which sends power to an all-wheel drive system with active differentials.

The SUV, which looks like it's ready for James Bond to have a family, sits on adaptive triple volume air suspension paired with latest 48V electric anti-roll control system (eARC) and electronic adaptive dampers.

For boot space, the all-new Aston Martin DBX can provide 632 liters of space and has the capability split fold the rear seats 40:20:40.

The seats are in full-grain leather, sourced from long-term partner Bridge of Weir. The all-new DBX’s headliner and electric roof blind are available in Alcantara finish to complement the metal, glass and wood trimmings throughout the cabin.

Further, the latest offering is fitted with a 10.25-inch TFT screen that is Apple CarPlay-ready sitting elegantly flush in the center console, and a 12.3-inch TFT screen that provides a wealth of information to the driver. A 360-degree camera system and ambient lighting that offers 64 different colors in two zones are also for the taking in the all-new DBX.

As part of “Q by Aston Martin” (Aston Martin’s personalization service), optional features of the center console can be machined from a solid piece of wood, such as Walnut, for added tactility.

As for the dimensions, Tagle shared that the dimensions of the all-new DBX is relatively similar to to its director competitor, the Lamborghini Urus . “The difference would be an inch—give or take,” he added.

The price tag for the all-new DBX is around P24.5 million.
