The month-long enhanced community quarantine(ECQ) places a travel restriction on all land, domestic sea, and domestic air travel, which puts healthcare workers in the predicament of not being able to get to their respective hospitals and perform their duties. To fill this need, the Department of Transportation (DOTr) deployed P2P buses beginning last March 18 to service the healthcare workers. During its initial launch, the P2P buses numbered ten in all, plying three bus routes. Yesterday, March 24, DOtr announced that they have increased that number to 16. “16 bus routes now operational for health workers!” DOTr said in a Facebook post. “From only three (3) routes during its initial deployment on 18 March 2020, the DOTr Free Ride for Health Workers Program now serves health workers on sixteen (16) routes,” the agency’ Facebook post continued. DOTr says that  the free ride is available to doctors, nurses, hospital admin and other workers in the healthcare industry including security officers and utility workers. The buses will transport passengers to these designated routes, and vice versa, at 5:00 am, 7:00 am, 1:00 pm, 3:00 pm, 5:00 pm, and 7:00 pm.
