Ford PH retains dominance in 4x4 pickup, small SUV category

Ford Philippines showed a strong retail performance for the full nine months of 2021 after rolling out 14,704 units led by the Ford Ranger and Territory models — reflecting a 57-percent sales increase.

The Ford Ranger reached 6,695 units with the Ranger Raptor driving sales and holding 38 percent of the country’s 4x4 pickup segment.

The Ford Territory, which was introduced in August last year, remained to be one of the top-selling vehicles under the local arm of the Blue Oval brand, with year-to-date sales of 4,993 units.

These numbers help retain the brand’s leadership in the small sport utility vehicle category in the market with a 58-percent share.

In the third quarter, vehicle sales rose by 21 percent after selling 4,849 vehicles over the last three months. The sales strength can also be attributed to the Ford Ranger nameplate (with 2,180 vehicles sold) and the Territory (with 1,669 units handed over to customers).

Last month, Ford Philippines posted its best retail month in 2021 after delivering a 1,783-unit performance,  15 percent higher than the same month last year. Also, the Ford Territory achieved its best retail month yet in September since its introduction after selling 742 units.

“The popularity of the Ford Ranger and the Ford Territory among Filipino customers continued to reflect in our overall vehicle sales, and with that, we are thankful to our dealers and customers for their trust to the Ford brand,” Ford Philippines Managing Director Michael Breen said.

“We are optimistic that we will end the year on a high note as we commit to creating must-have products and services and finding ways to enhance the Ford ownership experience by treating our customers like family,” he added.

Earlier, Ford Philippines and Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) announced their latest partnership that will help the American automotive manufacturer keep its momentum towards the final quarter of 2021.

The initiative expanded Ford’s network of banking partners for customers to make the purchase and ownership experience easier and hassle-free through BPI’s wide array of flexible auto loans and financing options.

This month, select variants of the Ford Ranger and Everest are presented with attractive deals.

Customers getting a Ranger 2.0L FX4 MAX 4x4 A/T or a Ranger 2.2L XLT 4x2 A/T are to enjoy a cash discount of P100,000. On the other hand, those who will purchase a Ranger 2.2L XLS 4x2 M/T can bring it home via special financing offer of P9,888 monthly amortization or P48,000 all-in down payment.

Meanwhile, the Ford Everest 2.0L Sport 4x2 A/T can be availed with a cash discount of P100,000, or via financing offer of P18,088 monthly fee or P158,000 all-in down payment.
