Geely EX5 EM-i debut set for Q1 2026

MANILA: The Geely EX5 EM-i is set to be launched for the local market soon. An exact date is yet to be announced, but it will likely enter the Philippines in the first quarter of 2026. 

The aforementioned launch of the EX5’s plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) version was confirmed by Geely Motor Philippines (GMP) after several examples arrived in the country ahead of its official local debut. 

The said arrival of the EX5 EM-i units likewise followed a teaser posted by GMP on its social media pages a few weeks ago, as reported by Carmudi’s sister publication Zigwheels Philippines.

Again, no other official details have been shared about the Geely EX5 EM-i for the moment, but as mentioned above, it is a PHEV model that could offer its adopters electric driving capabilities without range anxiety. 

In Australia, the model’s Long Range variant is marketed with a fuel efficiency rating of 22.72 kilometers per liter (kpl), according to the New European Driving Cycle (NEDC). 

The Geely-made PHEV likewise gained a Guinness World Record title in the Land Down Under. Specifically, it now has the “Lowest fuel consumption driving the Sydney-Melbourne Coastal Drive by a plug-in hybrid powered production sport utility vehicle” title after it managed to return a fuel consumption rating of 26.11 kpl.
