Mitsubishi Motors Corporation, whose origins go way back more than a century ago, is a Japanese automaker that started its journey with the Mitsubishi Model A, Japan's first series-production automobile. Created in 1917, only 22 of this hand-built, seven-seater sedan were created before it was discontinued in 1921.
The end of World War 2 proved more lucrative for the car company, with the '60s showing off its first-ever, mass-market sedan, the Mitsubishi 500. Today, Mitsubishi is the sixth biggest Japanese car maker and the 16th biggest in worldwide production.
