Humanitarian organization Philippine Red Cross (PRC) has received another unit of the Isuzu’s reliable pickup truck D-Max from Isuzu Philippines Corporation (IPC).
Received by the PRC-Laguna Chapter, the unit was given as IPC recognizes the need to immediately “respond during these challenging times, as the pandemic persist and continue to affect vulnerable families.”
Leading the official turnover of the unit in Sta. Rosa, Laguna were IPC Assistant Vice President for Administration David Yandoc and Sales Division Head Joseph Bautista. The ceremony was also graced by Sta. Rosa Mayor Arlene Arcillas, PRC Secretary General Elizabeth Zaballa, and PRC Chapter Administrator Laguna Chapter Frank Gray Sorromero.
In a statement, IPC claimed that the latest donated unit will ensure that PRC “will be where they need to be, no matter how difficult the road condition is — be it an off-road or flooded area.”
According to Bautista, the newest vehicle donation is the third unit given by Isuzu to PRC. “The first one was in January 2020 when it boosted the rescue and relief efforts for those affected by the Taal Volcano eruption by donating a D-Max 4x4. This was followed by the Isuzu NKR 71 food truck that was given to PRC amid the COVID-19 pandemic,” he cited.
Upon accepting the donation, Chairman of Board of Directors-PRC Laguna Chapter Jaime Ching recognized IPC for its trust and support to them. He also acknowledged IPC as their partner in making their work more efficient and effective.
Further, Bautista assured that they will continue to be PRC’s reliable partner in the country. “The vehicles we donate become important part of PRC's efforts to help during pandemic and natural calamities,” he told Carmudi Philippines.
