Jaecoo 7 surpasses intense heat test in China

The Jaecoo 7 has shown its stability under intense heat as it undergoes the first part of the 10,000-mile challenge in China.

KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • How fast did the Jaecoo 7 cool up its cabin during the test?

It only took the Jaecoo 7 only 10 minutes to reduce the temperature inside the car by 44 degrees Celsius when the cabin heat went up as high as 80 degrees Celsius.
  • Where did the assessors test the Jaecoo 7 for the hot environment test?

The Jaecoo testing team brought the model to Turpan, China.
  • Starting from Wuhu, the model (set to make its debut in the Philippine market within the year) — traveled thousands of miles as it passed through Turpan, Dunhuang and Golmud to demonstrate its off-road capabilities similar to the classic port utility vehicles (SUV).

In a statement shared by Omoda Philippines, the Jaecoo testing team brought the aforementioned model to Turpan, China and tested the vehicle under a hot environment that exceeded 51 degrees Celsius.

The Chinese automaker shared that it only took the Jaecoo 7 only 10 minutes to reduce the temperature inside the car by 44 degrees Celsius when the cabin heat went up as high as 80 degrees Celsius. The Chinese attributed its fast-cooling capabilities — which they call “cold miracle” during the test — to the “air conditioning outlet or the head space temperature.”

Aside from that, the Jaecoo 7 was able to start the vehicle in one go — amid the high temperature exposure and surface temperature reaching the limit of 75 degrees Celsius — with all functions maintaining normal conditions.

Further, the Jaecoo 7 maintained a clean and tidy interior as it navigated through the yellow sand of the Gobi Desert — showcasing its sealing capabilities.

In addition to the two tests, the company assessed the model’s brake heat fade under high temperature, hot start, and durability under high temperature.

Under the “desert + high temperature” tests, the Jaecoo 7 demonstrated its strong off-road strength, which is inseparable from its ARDIS all-road intelligent off-road system. The said technology allows the vehicle to dynamically adjust in real time, realize high performance and precise control depending on the road condition.

Moreover, the Jaecoo 7’s built-in Qualcomm 8155 chip assures more sensitive and user-friendly intelligent interaction.

Relatedly, the 10,000-mile test for the Jaecoo 7 is still ongoing, with the next stop to be at the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau in China.

Omoda Philippines Brand Manager John Ezekiel Asuncion shared to Carmudi Philippines that instead of bringing in the Jaecoo 7’s internal combustion engine (ICE) version, the company could be bringing in the nameplate’s hybrid or plug-in hybrid version.
