Kaicene PH to launch CX70 next week?

Kaicene Philippines, which was launched in July last year, is set to reveal its forthcoming addition to its lineup.

Based on the invite from Berjaya Auto Asia, Inc. (BAAI), it will be revealing a people mover model on December 8 carrying the slogan “Your Power to Move.”

Aside from that, the Kaicene’s local distributor posted a teaser on its Facebook page for the arrival of a sport utility vehicle offering.

“Are you looking for the right vehicle that will give you Your Power To Move? Watch this space for the unveiling of our new people mover soon!” the company noted.

With all these into play, we are guessing that the vehicle distributor would be bringing in the CX70, which wears a Changan badge in its home country.

If true, customers of the CX70 are bound to enjoy a vehicle that is 4,680mm long, 1,800mm wide and 1,775mm tall with a 2,780mm wheelbase and a 2-3-2 seating configuration.

Powering the said model is 1.6-liter engine that can provide 115 horses and 150Nm of torque.

The said vehicle is most probably the CX70, a seven-seater subcompact crossover that will challenge the likes of Toyota Rush and Suzuki XL7, among others.

The Kaicene brand name (pronounced as Kai-chen) is a new division wholly owned by Changan International Corporation.  Its local distributor offers Kaicene Honor S seven-seater multi-purpose vehicle, as well as the light commercial vehicles Kaicene Star Truck and Kaicene X5.

No details were released as of date but we are optimistic that it will be — in some way — at par with the giants in the category.
