All-new Mazda BT-50

Mazda Philippines has finally revealed the latest version of the BT-50, which now wears the Kodo-Soul of Motion design language also found in the brand’s latest offerings.

  • In a statement, Bermaz Auto Philippines said that the all-new Mazda BT-50 — which shares the same platform as with the all-new Isuzu D-Max — fuses together “premium car-like comfort, elegance and style with the strength, stance and functionality of a dedicated workhorse.”

    “The all-new Mazda BT-50 is the pickup we have all been waiting for,” Mazda Philippines President and Chief Executive Officer Steven Tan said.

    “The new BT-50 brings power, stature and prestige into the pickup market as it sits proudly among the rest of our Kodo Soul of Motion-inspired lineup. It is a confident expression of strength and versatility tempered by style and boldness that will allow its driver to experience life to the fullest. Our customers will surely find in the new BT-50 the same premium quality, comfort, durability and driving satisfaction that they have come to expect from every Mazda.”

    The newest version of the Mazda BT-50 has a cargo bed that is 490mm deep, and 1,571mm long (with a 1,530mm opening). The 4x4 trim has a functional roof rail to carry additional cargo overhead.

    However, despite maintaining its strong utilitarian function, the all-new Mazda BT-50 has evolved into a sexier version of the nameplate. The all-new Mazda BT-50 wears sharp and sleek LED head and taillamps, flared fender panels, and a new 18-inch wheels with a two-tone finish.

    On the inside, the Mazda BT-50 sports an sport utility vehicle (SUV)-like cabin design. The front seats are tailored in fine brown leather (for the 4x4) or high-quality black fabric (for the 4x2) Matte-finished sculpted accents at the door panels matched the high-gloss finish for its air conditioning bezels.

    Passenger-centric features include dual zone air-conditioning system, bottle holders in the doors that can accommodate 1.5-liter drinks, 2.1 ampere USB ports in the front and rear and secret compartments underneath the backseats.

    The driver gets a tilt/telescopic-adjustable steering wheel, while all front occupants get seat warmers.

    Drivers can enjoy advance technology, thanks to the all-new Mazda BT-50’s remote engine start button on the key fob, keyless entry and walk away autolock systems.

    Sitting in the middle of the dashboard is a nine-inch touchscreen LCD Infotainment System that has Android Auto and Wireless Apple CarPlay compatibility. This is hooked to the system’s 6x9-inch woofers in the front and rear doors, on-dash tweeters, and special roof speakers.

    Powering the all-new Mazda BT-50 is 3.0-liter in-line intercooler-equipped variable-geometry turbo diesel engine that can provide a maximum of 187hp and 450Nm of torque. This is paired to a six-speed automatic transmission.

    Further, the new BT-50 4x4 features an electronically-controlled Drive Selector that can deliver four power options namely two-wheel drive low, two-wheel drive high, four-wheel drive low, and four-wheel drive high. Mated to an electronic rear differential lock system, maximum contact and traction is assured.

    Moreover, the all-new Mazda BT-50 is equipped Mazda Active Safety Technology, such as Adaptive Cruise Control, Autonomous Emergency Braking, Lane Departure Warning System, Forward Collision Warning, Blind Spot Monitor, and Rear Cross Traffic Alert.

    In the event of an accident, the all-new Mazda BT-50 is seven airbags, including a Driver’s Knee Airbag, and Front Side Airbags as added layers of safety and reassurance.

    Furthermore, the all-new Mazda is packaged with a five-year free service plan, and three-year bumper-to-bumper warranty.

    Offered in Concrete Gray, Gun Blue Metallic, Volcanic Red, Rock Gray, Icy White, Silver Ingot and True Black, the all-New Mazda BT-50 is retailed in three different trims:

    • BT-50 M/T 4x2: P1.39 million;
    • BT-50 A/T 4x2: P1.43 million; and,
    • BT-50 A/T 4x4: P1.79 million.

    The All-New BT-50 will be available at 16 Mazda showrooms nationwide starting tomorrow.
