MG PH lineup posts outstanding fuel efficiency numbers in recent test

MG Philippines announced that its full lineup in the country has posted impressive numbers at the recent fuel economy run.

The test — recorded by the Automobile Association Philippines (AAP) — showed that the MG 5 sedan, ZS, ZST, and HS all breached the 17-kilometers per liter (kpl) rating.

“The test was done to formalize the fuel efficiency ratings of MG vehicles while providing car-buying Filipinos with unbiased and impartial data on a very important feature for cars nowadays. This AAP fuel eco run validates yet another winning asset of MG cars and SUVs—apart from their modern style, advanced tech features, rich British heritage, and attainable price points—that makes them even more desirable for the discerning customer,” MG Philippines shared in a statement.

According to Morris Garage’s local distributor, strict parameters and real-world conditions such as normal usage of air-conditioning, rolling up of windows, keeping within regulated road speed limits, and with tires pumped to factory-recommended pressure were followed during the course of the test. Aside from that, all traffic rules and regulations were followed and no “hypermiling techniques” were employed by the drivers.

Below are the vehicles that MG Philippines fielded during the AAP-sanctioned fuel eco run, and their corresponding fuel mileage ratings:

Among the vehicles that were tested, the MG 5 Sedan — which is the brand’s entry in the subcompact sedan arena — had the highest efficiency rating.
