Moreno gets slot in Toyota GR GT Cup 2023 global finals

Luis Moreno gets a shot at the global finals for the Toyota Gazoo Racing Gran Turismo (TGR GT) Cup 2023 after being one of the overall podium finishers at the recently-concluded Asia leg.

One of the three online racers carrying the country’s colors at the Asia leg, Moreno scored a total of 52 points, placing second overall after completing three races in the following positions:

• Race 1: Sixth place (13 points)
• Race 2: Fourth place (13 points)
• Race 3: Third (23 points)

He and Indonesian Andika Rama, who scored 65 points at the series, will both represent Asia in the TGR GT Global Finals scheduled for November.

Meanwhile, Russel Reyes had a total of 15 points and placed 12th in the series, and Matthew Ang had eight points and finished 15th.

For his part, Toyota Motor Philippines First Vice President for Vehicle Sales Operations Danny Cruz hailed Moreno for his strong output in the Asian leg.

"It is with great pride and joy that we congratulate Luis Moreno for his breathtaking second place finish at the TGR GT Cup Asia, earning for the Philippines one of the two Asian spots in the GR GT Cup Global Finals… This is truly an unforgettable milestone for the Toyota Gazoo Racing Philippines family that have always championed Filipinos' world-class skills and passion for e-motorsports."
