MPCALA eyes to complete CALAX subsections by next year

MANILA: MPCALA Holdings Incorporated is eyeing to complete the remaining subsections of the Cavite-Laguna Expressway (CALAX) in the first half of 2026.

    Per MPCALA, the EEI Corporation will be in charge of the construction in Subsection 1 (from Open Canal to Kawit), while CMPCI will man Subsection 2 (from Governor’s Drive to Open Canal).

     The company said that milestone serves as “another step forward in bringing the full alignment of CALAX closer to completion” to ensure improved connectivity and enhanced mobility for motorists traveling across Cavite and Laguna.

    Signing the contract for the remaining construction works at CALAX Subsection 1 are MPT South President and General Manager Christopher Andrew Pangilinan; MPCALA Holdings Director Jose Ma. Lim; MPT South Vice President for Finance Elnora Rumawak; as well as EEI Senior Vice President and Head of Operations and Commercials Anna Shiela Figuera; and EEI Vice President for Business Development Christopher Esguerra.

    Meanwhile, signatories for the remaining construction works at CALAX Subsection 2 are Pangilinan, Lim, Rumawak, as well as CMPCI President and General Manager Gerardo Pancho, and Vice President Clemente Pancho.

    To note, CALAX is a 45-kilometer expressway with operational segments at:

    • Laguna Technopark
    • Laguna Boulevard
    • Santa Rosa-Tagaytay Road
    • Silang East
    • Silang Aguinaldo Interchange.

    The remaining subsections, including Subsection 3 (Silang Aguinaldo to Governor’s Drive), are under active development.
