The NLEX Corporation has announced that it has been recertified for another three years for complying with integrated management system standards in quality, environment, and occupational health and safety.

KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • What are the ISO certifications that the NLEX Corporation recently received?

The tollway company has acquired the versions of ISO 9001:2015 (Quality Management System), ISO 14001:2015 (Environmental Management System), and ISO 45001: 2018 (Occupational Health and Safety Management System).
  • Who issued the certification?

DQS Holdings GmbH, which is considered to be one of the leading certification bodies for management systems around the world, gave the certification to NLEX Corporation.
  • In a statement, the tollway operator shared that it has received the latest versions of ISO 9001:2015 (Quality Management System), ISO 14001:2015 (Environmental Management System), and ISO 45001: 2018 (Occupational Health and Safety Management System) issued by DQS Holdings GmbH, one of the leading certification bodies for management systems worldwide.

To note, the company has been ISO-certified since 2008.

The ISO certification is an international standard that recognizes companies that adopt optimal procedures to consistently provide services that meet customer and regulatory requirements; manage environmental responsibilities; and protect the health and safety of workers.

“This is part of our continuing journey to business excellence. Our well-established management systems enabled us to adapt to changes and ensure sustainability of our operations. Though faced with the challenges of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, we remain committed to improve the company’s processes, preserve the environment, and care for the health and safety of our employees, with the ultimate goal of enhancing our customer service,” NLEX Corporation President and General Manager Luigi Bautista was quoted as saying.

“Our recertification achievement assures that despite the disruptions caused by the global health crisis, we can ensure the quality of service that we offer to our customers,” he added.

Relatedly, the tollway operator is eyeing for another accreditation as it currently pursues Road Traffic Safety Management System (RTSMS), which is also known as ISO 39001 certification.

The NLEX Corporation has instituted and implemented programs such as the continuous maintenance and upgrade of NLEX-SCTEX assets and facilities; implementation of traffic laws; conduct of lectures and distribution of materials on safe driving practices and roadshows to uphold road safety.
